Artist Statement & Bio
DAVE KONIG is a three time Emmy award winning actor, comedian, writer, and painter. He recently guest starred on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Blacklist, Blue Bloods and many others. He won his Emmys hosting the NYC comedy interview series Subway Q&A. Konig starred on Broadway as the dee-jay Vince Fontaine in the hit revival of Grease, and he tours nationally as a headlining stand up comic. His first novel Good Luck, Mr. Gorsky - a tale of 1970's New York City - was called "required reading" by the NY Post. With all of show business shut down during the first wave of the pandemic, Konig took to painting. His works, on display at the RPAC Gallery in Ridgefield, were all created in the past year and a half. A native New Yorker he has an affinity for painting working class people "mostly from the Bronx". Konig has co-created, along with composer Elliot Finkel, a new musical revue based on his paintings entitled The King of the Bronx.
