Artist Statement & Bio
As an artist I am heavily influenced by my Brazilian roots. My art expresses the colors, energies and rich nature of South America. It reflects the diversity of my origins. It’s more primal. It plays with the shapes and colors of nature and it’s creatures.
I am deeply inspired by beauty and a sense of organization in chaos. When I draw I never plan ahead, I allow myself to be guided by my feelings and the energies passing through me. I aspire to share these energies with you.
I grew up in a Brazilian coastal city called Fortaleza, by tall buildings, sand dunes, mangroves and a long seashore. Growing up surrounded by this vibrant nature, culture and soundscape has certainly made a big impact in my life and it deeply influences my art.
I earned a BA in International Business with a minor in Economics from the State University of New York College at Brockport, spending my early career in New York City working for Corporate America and traveling all over the United States and Europe.
Motherhood initiated the most rewarding and challenging period of my life, unraveling my perceptions about myself and connecting me to my ancestral roots, allowing me to dive deeper into my art and the energies flowing through me.
